Residential Care

at Bankfoot House

‘Our House is your home’ and we really mean this. Bankfoot does not have an institutional feel, it’s a comfortable and homely space. With only 25 residents, we can offer services that are properly tailored to your needs and preferences.

Our staff are trained & experienced in the administration of medicines and we have thorough, detailed and very safe procedures and arrangements. All decisions about specific medication are overseen by qualified health professionals.

Care that is uniquely yours

Your experience of Residential Care should be uniquely yours. If you need a high degree of assistance with your personal care then we will provide that, with skill, respect and compassion. We have a range of specialist equipment, at Bankfoot, but we will encourage and support you to be as independent as you wish.

Local health services in Moffat are very good and we enjoy excellent working relationships with the Nursing Service and GP Practice.

We will also help, if you wish, to make arrangements with hairdressers, opticians, dentists and podiatrists. A local hairdresser makes regular visits to our salon at Bankfoot.

Bankfoot is your home, you are welcome to have Visitors and to make arrangements, if you are able, to go out. We understand that contact with and from your friends & family is very important and we will support you with this.

We all have changing needs and preferences. We respond to this at Bankfoot by regularly taking a detailed look, with you, at your experience with us. As well as Care Staff reviewing your Care experience, the Kitchen Team will talk with you about food preferences, the Domestic Team will want to know what you think about cleanliness and the Activities & Well Being Coordinators will review whether we giving you the right activities.

Your questions about residential care

  • Residential Care means long-term care provided in a care home. It’s for people who may need assistance with their personal care, such as help with washing, dressing, eating, going to the toilet. With support from the local Nursing Service, Bankfoot is able to provide support & assistance with the management of a range of health conditions.

However, Bankfoot is not a Nursing Home.

  • The first 4 weeks of your stay at Bankfoot is viewed as being a Trial Period. If you wish, your contract can be terminated within that time.

  • We very much hope that you do make a visit to Bankfoot before deciding. You are making a very big decision and it’s important that you and/or your family have as much information as possible.

Visits can be arranged by contacting our Care Home Manager.
